What this amendment would do
SA 4838, submitted by Mr. HICKENLOOPER, aims to add a section to title III of S. Con. Res. 33.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund to reallocate $70,000,000,000 in funding from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to State and local public health departments that are responding to vaccine-preventable illness outbreaks.
This change allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for related legislation, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2026 through 2035.
