What this amendment would do
SA 4815, submitted by Ms. Hassan, is an amendment to S. Con. Res. 33. This resolution sets the congressional budget for fiscal year 2026 and budgetary levels for fiscal years 2027 through 2035.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund specifically for restoring enhanced premium assistance tax credits for 1 year.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise allocations of committees, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for various legislative actions, such as bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports.
These actions are permitted as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2026 through 2035.
