S.Amdt. 4243

SA 4243, submitted by Ms. Rosen, aims to change how funds are used by the Department of Health and Human Services and to hold the Secretary of Health and Human Services accountable.

The amendment intends to add the following:

• Funds from the Act cannot be used to implement or promote changes to the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule if those changes are not consistent with recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

• The salary of the Secretary of Health and Human Services will be cut to $1 annually.

• This salary reduction remains in effect until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reverse the immunization schedule changes announced in January 2026 and return to the official recommendations that were in effect in 2024.

• Any future changes to the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule must be made in consultation with, and with the agreement of, the American Academy of Pediatrics.
