What this amendment would do
SA 4193, submitted by Mrs. Blackburn, aims to add a section to bill H.R. 6938 regarding a study on national security risks.
The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Commerce to:
- Conduct a study on cybersecurity vulnerabilities and national security risks related to consumer modems, routers, and combined modem-router devices.
- Focus the study on devices that are supplied, manufactured, developed, or designed by persons subject to the influence of, controlled by, or owned by a covered country.
