What this amendment would do

SA 4174, submitted by Mr. Durbin and Ms. Duckworth, aims to change bill H.R. 6938, which covers consolidated appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a requirement that at least $25,000,000 from the available funds be used for authorized reimbursements for flood and storm damage projects.

To qualify for these funds, the projects must meet these criteria:

There is an executed project partnership agreement.
Construction has been completed.
The non-Federal interest intends to use the reimbursement for additional water resources development activities.
