What this amendment would do
Ms. Cortez Masto submitted SA 383, which is an amendment intended for the concurrent resolution setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
- It adds a new section at the end of title III titled DEFICIT-NEUTRAL RESERVE FUND RELATING TO IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AGAINST DREAMERS.
- It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to immigration enforcement.
- This enforcement may include prohibiting immigration enforcement against Dreamers with no criminal record or who do not pose a threat to public safety.
- These changes can only happen if the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
