What this amendment would do

SA 3802, submitted by Ms. Duckworth and Mr. Durbin, is an amendment to SA 3748 regarding bill S. 2296.

The purpose of this amendment is to add Section 2850, which prohibits the use of military construction funds to:

  • Construct, renovate, or expand any facility used by the Department of Defense to detain migrants.

  • Construct, renovate, or expand any facility to facilitate the detention of migrants by the Department of Homeland Security, which includes housing personnel for that department.
