What this amendment would do

SA 3774, submitted by Mr. Durbin and Ms. Duckworth, aims to add a new section (SEC. 1048) to the end of subtitle E of title X of bill S. 2296.

The purpose of this amendment is to stop the Department of Defense from using any authorized or available funds for activities that:

  • Violate the Posse Comitatus Act.
  • Infringe on powers reserved to the States under the Constitution of the United States.
