What this amendment would do

SA 3733, submitted by Mr. Moran and Ms. Rosen, aims to expand the authority of the Department of Defense regarding intergovernmental support agreements.

The amendment proposes the following changes to Section 2679 of title 10, United States Code:

  • It allows the Secretary concerned or state, local, or tribal governments to partner or collaborate with other Federal agency or agencies to share, provide, or receive installation-support services.

  • It clarifies that the Secretary concerned can use non-appropriated funds, as well as funds for military construction, procurement of ammunition, operation and maintenance, and research, development, test, and evaluation to pay for installation-support services.

  • It extends a date from September 30, 2025, to September 30, 2030.

  • It specifies that needs for a facility include its operation, maintenance, construction, or repair.
