What this amendment would do

SA 3667, submitted by Mr. Warner, aims to add a new section to bill S. 2296. This addition focuses on the promotion of certain food and nutrition assistance programs.

The amendment intends to change the bill by adding the following requirements:

  • Each Secretary concerned must promote awareness of food and nutrition assistance programs run by the Department of Defense to the members of the Armed Forces under their jurisdiction.

  • Within one year of the Act being enacted, each Secretary concerned must give a report to the congressional defense committees summarizing the activities used to promote these programs.
