What this amendment would do

SA 3643, submitted by Mr. Hoeven, aims to add a section to bill S. 2296 regarding the True North program of the Department of the Air Force.

The purpose of this amendment is to express the sense of the Senate on the following points:

  • The True North program provides important mental health care benefits to Air Force members.

  • Providing the program to some members at certain installations but not others may create a perception of disparity.

  • To avoid this perception, the program should operate on an installation-wide basis instead of a unit-by-unit basis within an installation.
