What this amendment would do

SA 3581, submitted by Ms. SMITH, is an amendment to bill S. 2296.

The purpose of this amendment is to provide a Rural Emergency Hospital Fix. It aims to change the Social Security Act by inserting "January 1, 2020, or" into section 1861(kkk)(3).

Additionally, the amendment allows the Secretary of Health and Human Services to implement this change through program instruction or other means, regardless of any other law.
