What this amendment would do

SA 3579, submitted by Ms. SMITH, aims to change how the Peace Corps Act handles the use of official symbols.

The purpose of this amendment is to allow the official seal, emblem, and name of the Peace Corps to be used for:

  • Death announcements
  • Gravestones
  • Plaques
  • Other grave markers

These uses apply to any person who served as a Peace Corps volunteer, officer, or employee, following rules set by the Director.
