What this amendment would do

SA 3539, submitted by Mr. Wicker and Mr. Reed, aims to change section 1244 of the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023.

The purpose of this amendment is to add the United States defense industrial base to the temporary authorizations related to munitions replacement.

Specifically, it changes the following:

  • The section heading and table of contents are updated to include the United States defense industrial base alongside Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel.

  • Subsection (a), paragraphs (1) and (5), are amended to replace references to or Israel with Israel, or the United States defense industrial base.
