What this amendment would do

SA 3474, submitted by Mr. Lankford, aims to change the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act by adding a section regarding Electric Utilities.

The amendment intends to add the following:

  • Hazard mitigation activities: Electric utilities can perform cost-effective hazard mitigation activities along with power restoration activities that receive assistance under section 403.

  • Eligibility for additional assistance: Receiving assistance for emergency power restoration under section 403 will not make a facility ineligible for hazard mitigation assistance under section 406.

This amendment applies to amounts appropriated on or after the date the Act is enacted.
