What this amendment would do
SA 3290, submitted by Mr. LEE, is an amendment to bill S. 2296.
The purpose of this amendment is to change how Mexico is categorized within military areas of responsibility. It requires the Secretary of Defense to do the following within 30 days after the Act is enacted:
- Remove Mexico from the area of responsibility of the United States Northern Command.
- Include Mexico in the area of responsibility of the United States Southern Command.
