What this amendment would do
SA 3276 aims to modify the reporting requirements for privatized military housing. It adds new requirements to the reports, including:
- An overview of housing data used by the Department and data requested from management companies.
- An assessment of how military department Secretaries use that data for on-base housing decisions.
- An explanation regarding the limitations of customer satisfaction data, how resident satisfaction is determined, and why data might be missing.
- A breakdown of this information by military housing project and installation, as much as possible.
The amendment also requires the Secretary of Defense to publish these reports on a public Department of Defense website within 30 days of submission. Additionally, it changes the heading of the subsection from Annual to Semi-annual.
