What this amendment would do
SA 3157, submitted by Ms. Cortez Masto, is an amendment to be proposed to amendment SA 2977 and bill H.R. 3944.
The purpose of this amendment is to ensure that the Department of Commerce, and any of its agencies, offices, or entities, cannot use funds from this Act to limit Federal funding for any of the following:
- States
- Units of local government
- Tribal entities
This restriction applies if the limitation of funds is based on the regulatory authorities those entities have regarding artificial intelligence.
