What this amendment would do

SA 3123, submitted by Ms. Rosen and others, aims to add a section to bill H.R. 3944 regarding the suppression of Mormon crickets and grasshoppers.

The purpose of this amendment is to allocate specific funds from the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service under AGRICULTURAL PROGRAMS for the following:

  • $6,500,000 for activities to control and suppress Mormon crickets and grasshoppers in Western States.
  • At least $2,000,000 of those funds must be used for the actual treatment of landscape.
