What this amendment would do

SA 3057, submitted by Mr. Padilla, aims to add a section to H.R. 3944 focused on improving the HUD-VASH program.

The amendment requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to take the following actions within 90 days of the Act's enactment:

  • Conduct more boot camps to improve the HUD-VASH program.
  • Keep providing targeted technical assistance using action plans and lessons from the boot camps.
  • Send a report to the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations regarding how communities have used alternative methods to grow HUD-VASH case management capacity.
