What this amendment would do

SA 3056, submitted by Mr. Padilla, aims to add a new section to bill H.R. 3944.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide reports to the Senate and House Committees on Appropriations. These reports must cover the status of how recommendations from the Comptroller General of the United States in Government Accountability Office report GAO-25-107182 (June 2, 2025) are being implemented.

The reporting requirements are as follows:

  • The first report must be provided no later than 90 days after the Act is enacted.
  • Subsequent reports must be provided at least once every quarter.
