What this amendment would do

SA 3054, submitted by Mr. PADILLA, aims to add a section to H.R. 3944 regarding the HUD-VASH program.

The purpose of this amendment is to require a report to be submitted to the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate and the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.

This report must include recommendations to streamline the annual income verification process for veterans in the program to reduce the burden on them.

The report must be submitted by the following officials no later than 180 days after the Act is enacted:

  • Secretary of Veterans Affairs
  • Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
  • Commissioner of Social Security
  • Other heads of relevant entities as determined by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
