What this amendment would do

SA 2981, submitted by Ms. Cortez Masto, aims to add a requirement for an Annual Report on Community Care Costs and Outcomes to bill H.R. 3944.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide a public report to Congress every year that includes:

  • The total spending for services under the Veterans Community Care Program.

  • A cost comparison between care provided in Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and care provided through the Veterans Community Care Program.

  • Metrics regarding the quality and outcomes of care from the Veterans Community Care Program.

  • Data on veteran satisfaction when comparing care in Department facilities versus the Veterans Community Care Program.
