What this amendment would do
This amendment, submitted by Mr. Warnock, aims to change how the government reports on privatized military housing. It adds new requirements to the reports to ensure more transparency regarding housing data and how it is used.
Changes and Additions:
-
The amendment adds requirements for the report to include:
- An overview of housing data used by the Department and data requested from management companies.
- How the Secretary of each military department uses that data for on-base housing decisions.
- An explanation of why some data might be missing, the process for determining resident satisfaction, and the limitations of customer satisfaction data.
- A breakdown of this information by military housing project and installation, when possible.
-
It requires the Secretary of Defense to publish the report on a public Department of Defense website within 30 days of submission.
