What this amendment would do

SA 2898 is an amendment proposed by Mrs. Shaheen, Ms. Murkowski, Mr. Durbin, and Ms. Klobuchar. It modifies a previous amendment (SA 2853) to bill H.R. 4, which deals with rescinding budget authority.

The amendment aims to change the following:

  • It changes the amount to be rescinded in section 2(b)(13) from $460,000,000 to $260,000,000.

  • It adds a condition that these funds shall not be rescinded from assistance for Ukraine if doing so would drop the assistance from funds available in fiscal year 2025 below $200,000,000.
