What this amendment would do
Mr. Kaine submitted amendment numbered SA 288, which proposes to add a new section to title III of the concurrent resolution.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to combating housing discrimination.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes can be made for legislation relating to preventing, educating on, and investigating housing discrimination, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
The efforts supported by this may include supporting the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
