What this amendment would do

SA 2861, submitted by Mr. WICKER, aims to add a section regarding TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FUNDS to bill S. 2296.

The purpose of this amendment is to:

  • Make up to $36,000,000 available for technical assistance and grants under section 1442(b) of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

  • Target these funds for areas where the President declared an emergency in August of fiscal year 2022 under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.

  • Designate the repurposed amounts as an emergency requirement according to the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985.
