What this amendment would do
Mr. Markey submitted amendment SA 2818 to the bill H.R. 1.
The purpose of this amendment is to add an uncompensated care payment adjustment for services provided by Federally-Qualified Health Centers.
What it aims to change or add: The amendment amends section 1902(bb) of the Social Security Act to allow a State plan to provide an additional uncompensated care payment adjustment for certain services furnished by a Federally-qualified health center. This applies to services furnished during fiscal year 2027 or a succeeding fiscal year. The adjustment must be negotiated with Federally-qualified health centers in the State and reflect the costs associated with providing services to individuals during periods of uninsurance.
