What this amendment would do

SA 2779, submitted by Mr. Kennedy, aims to add a new section to title II of H.R. 1.

The purpose of this amendment is to require the Secretary of Defense to reduce the number of civilian employees within the Department of Defense.

The reduction must be 15 percent.
This reduction must happen during the five-year period starting from the date the Act is enacted.
