What this amendment would do

Mr. Wyden and Mr. Merkley submitted this amendment, which was proposed to SA 2360 for the bill H.R. 1.
It makes specific changes to sections 50301, 50401, and 50501 of the text.
In section 50301, it adds the phrase "Subject to applicable law (including regulations in effect on the date of enactment of this Act)," and it strikes subparagraph (C) in specific parts.
In section 50401(b)(2), it changes the funding amount from $171,000,000 down to $66,000,000.
In section 50501, it changes the funding amount from $1,000,000,000 down to $743,000,000.
