What this amendment would do

This is amendment SA 2730, submitted by Mr. Heinrich. It aims to change a specific part of the bill by adding new funding rules under section 50403(a).

Purpose and Changes

The amendment adds $1,000,000,000 in new funding to the Secretary for fiscal year 2025. This money stays available until September 30, 2028.
Out of that total money, $100,000,000 is set aside specifically for the Tribal energy loan guarantee program.
The Secretary is allowed to use no more than 3 percent of the funds for administrative expenses.
