What this amendment would do

Mr. Moreno submitted amendment SA 2707 to the bill H.R. 1. The purpose of this amendment is to reduce the excise tax on heavy trucks and trailers.

The amendment changes the tax rate found in section 4051 from 12 percent down to 2 percent for subsections (a)(1) and (b)(1).
This new lower tax rate will apply to sales, uses, and installations that happen after December 31, 2025.
