S.Amdt. 2700

This amendment introduces a brand new tax credit called the neighborhood homes credit. Its main purpose is to encourage the building and major repair of homes in certain neighborhoods, helping people become homeowners or fixing up homes that families already own in specific areas.

The amendment aims to add this credit to the existing general business credit and the alternative minimum tax. It sets up rules for how states can hand out these credits, decides what counts as a reasonable building or repair cost, and creates rules for selling these homes to qualified buyers.
