What this amendment would do

As folks looking out for the hard-working people of this country, we need to keep track of how our elected officials propose spending our tax dollars. Mr. Heinrich submitted amendment SA 2681 to provide $200,000,000 to the Department of Agriculture.

Purpose: The money is meant to provide economic assistance to federally approved livestock marketing facilities and attendant businesses.
Location: These businesses must be located in States along the United States-Mexico border.
Reason: The businesses must have been economically harmed by the New World screwworm outbreak.
Timeline: The funds are to remain available until September 30, 2029.
