What this amendment would do
This amendment makes several changes to the clean fuel production credit. Its purpose is to alter how the tax credit works for certain transportation and aviation fuels by updating rules on feedstocks, emissions rates, and the timeline of the credits.
-
Requires that eligible transportation fuel must come exclusively from feedstocks produced or grown in the United States, Mexico, or Canada.
-
Sets a rule that the emissions rate for transportation fuel cannot be less than zero, except for specific fuels derived from animal manures.
-
Extends the clean fuel production credit through December 31, 2029.
-
Stops certain foreign entities and foreign-influenced entities from receiving the credit.
-
Increases the small agri-biodiesel producer credit from 10 cents to 20 cents.
