What this amendment would do

Mr. Reed, along with Ms. Hirono and Mr. Whitehouse, put forward an amendment numbered SA 2630. The whole point of this change is to increase the total maximum Federal Pell Grant award per student.

What It Changes in the Law

To make this happen, the amendment targets the Higher Education Act of 1965.
It adds specific wording for funding amounts covering the award years 2024-2025, 2025-2026, and sets it at $6,060 for the award year 2026-2027 and every award year after that.
