What this amendment would do
Mr. Reed submitted amendment numbered SA 2624 to the bill H.R. 1.
Purpose and Changes
The purpose of this amendment is the protection of medicaid beneficiaries. It aims to stop certain parts of the bill—specifically chapters 1 and 2 of subtitle B title VII—from taking effect, and blocks any funds from being spent to carry them out, until a specific condition is met.
- Medicaid Certification: The Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services must first certify that putting those parts of the bill into action will not cause anyone who is eligible for medical assistance under a State plan or waiver to lose their benefits.
