What this amendment would do

As folks keeping an eye on how our elected officials spend our money, we need to know what this amendment is doing. Submitted by Ms. Cantwell, amendment SA 2612 changes a few numbers and removes specific parts from a larger bill (H.R. 1).

Here is what the amendment aims to change or add to the bill:

  • It changes a total dollar amount in section 1181 of title 14, United States Code, by lowering it from $24,593,500,000 to $24,383,500,000.

  • It lowers another specific dollar amount found in section 1181(11) from $2,200,000,000 to $1,990,000,000.

  • It completely strikes out paragraph (8) of section 40003(a).

  • It completely strikes out section 40010.
