S.Amdt. 2611

This amendment was submitted by Ms. Cantwell and Mr. Durbin. It aims to change specific funding paragraphs in section 40003(a) of the underlying bill text.

The amendment strikes paragraphs (7), (8), and (9) and replaces them with new instructions for funding air traffic infrastructure and personnel.

It sets aside $1,900,000,000 to replace and construct new air route traffic control centers. Out of this specific amount, $1,000,000,000 or more must go toward hiring, keeping, and training air traffic controllers.

It also provides $1,000,000,000 to support modernizing and replacing terminal radar approach control facilities, analyzing which ones need upgrades, and establishing brand new facilities.
