S.Amdt. 2610

This amendment was submitted by Ms. Cantwell and Mr. Durbin. Its purpose is to change specific funding amounts and instructions within section 40003(a) of the bill.

Here is what the amendment aims to change and add:

• Strike paragraphs (7), (8), and (9) of section 40003(a).

• Add $1,900,000,000 for necessary actions to replace and construct new air route traffic control centers, with at least $900,000,000 of that money going toward modernizing and replacing airport traffic control towers. It also limits planning or administrative use to no more than 2 percent of that amount.

• Add $1,000,000,000 to support modernizing and replacing terminal radar approach control facilities, analyzing and identifying which ones need modernization and replacement, and other appropriate activities to establish brand new facilities.
