What this amendment would do

Mr. Whitehouse submitted amendment SA 2512 to the bill H.R. 1. The purpose of this amendment is to add a study and a report regarding the closures of hospitals and nursing homes across the country.

What It Aims to Change or Add

It requires the Comptroller General to study hospital and nursing home closures and hospital service reductions in rural, urban, and suburban areas for the years 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027.
It requires the Comptroller General to submit a report containing the study results and recommendations for legislation and administrative action to Congress no later than 4 years after the date of enactment of the Act.
