What this amendment would do
Mr. Wyden submitted this amendment, numbered SA 2502, to the bill H.R. 1. The purpose of the amendment is to make changes regarding judicial security and privacy by updating the Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act of 2022.
Here is what the amendment aims to change and add to the bill:
- It updates the definition of an at-risk individual under section 5933(1). Under the new exception, this now means an individual located in the United States or a United States person as defined in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978.
- It adds a new enforcement rule under section 5934(f)(1). This allows the Attorney General or the attorney general (or equivalent) of any State to file an action seeking injunctive or declaratory relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to enforce these provisions.
