S.Amdt. 2489

As folks watching out for how our money is handled, we need to keep an eye on how our elected officials propose changing funds. Mr. Kim submitted this amendment to modify special appropriations specifically for Coast Guard mission readiness.

Changes to the Bill

The amendment aims to change the bill by altering specific funding amounts and adding new categories for how the money is spent.

• It reduces a previously listed funding amount from $2,729,500,000 down to $1,429,000,000.
• It adds $1,000,000,000 for Coast Guard Small Boat Stations that handle search, rescue, and other missions.
• It adds $200,000,000 for Coast Guard medical clinics and related infrastructure improvements.
• It adds $1,000,000,000 for childcare services for Coast Guard members, as well as for designing, planning, engineering, and building child development centers.
• It adds $100,000,000 for the design, planning, engineering, construction, and improvement of housing for Coast Guard members.
