S.Amdt. 2468

Mr. Schiff submitted amendment SA 2468, which adds a sunset provision to the bill.

The purpose of this amendment is to hold the changes in the chapter accountable to the people by protecting residential electricity consumers from rising costs.

• It aims to repeal the amendments made under the chapter if the Energy Information Administration determines that the average price of electricity for residential customers increases for 3 consecutive months.
• It ensures that if this happens, the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 will be applied as if those amendments had never been enacted.
