What this amendment would do
This amendment was submitted by Ms. Rosen. Its purpose is to hold our officials accountable by clearly showing what changes are being proposed regarding health care help for people living in our country.
The amendment aims to add a new group of people who can receive premium tax credits. Specifically, it adds aliens who have been granted deferred action under the Department of Homeland Security memorandum issued on June 15, 2012, which is titled "Exercising Prosecutorial Discretion with Respect to Individuals Who Came to the United States as Children."
- The change adds these individuals to the existing rules for tax credits found in section 36B(e)(2)(B).
- The new rules will officially start applying to taxable years that begin after December 31, 2026.
