What this amendment would do
MR. KELLY submitted an amendment to strike section 60021 and insert a new section. The purpose of this change is to repeal the funding for low-carbon materials for federal buildings and instead provide funding for covered border security projects.
The amendment aims to change the bill by making the following additions and removals:
- Rescission: Takes away the unobligated balances of amounts made available to carry out section 60503 of Public Law 117-169.
- New Funding: Appropriates $991,169,534 for fiscal year 2025 to be deposited in the Federal Buildings Fund and used for specific covered border security projects.
- Specific Projects: Directs the money to various modernization, repair, and construction projects across multiple states, such as Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Texas, Vermont, and Washington.
