What this amendment would do
Look, as folks who send people to Washington to work for us, we need to know what our elected officials are trying to pull off with our tax dollars. Mr. Lee submitted amendment SA 2210 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.
What It Aims to Change or Add
- This amendment creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund.
- It gives the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate the power to change committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels.
- It allows these adjustments for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, and other measures relating to condemning acts of terrorism and vandalism done for political intimidation.
- Specifically, this includes acts against electric vehicle manufacturers, dealers, and owners.
- The catch is that any legislation using this fund cannot increase the deficit over the total periods of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
