What this amendment would do

Mr. Lee submitted amendment SA 2204, which proposes setting up a deficit-neutral reserve fund.

The purpose of this amendment is to allow changes to the budget so Congress can pass legislation that stops the United States Agency for Global Media and its component networks from using federal money to influence public opinion inside the United States or to prepare program materials meant to be distributed within the United States.

To keep our elected officials accountable, this amendment makes sure that any future legislation on this matter does not increase the federal deficit over the combined periods of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
