What this amendment would do

MR. WYDEN submitted amendment numbered SA 2189, which was ordered to lie on the table.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to helping ranchers hurt by tariffs, paid for by stopping tax cuts for billionaires.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-type-go ledger. This can be done for legislation relating to helping ranchers hurt by tariffs, paid for by stopping tax cuts for billionaires.

This applies as long as the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
