What this amendment would do
Mr. Cruz submitted amendment SA 2179 to the concurrent resolution for the fiscal year 2025 congressional budget.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to prohibit CCP funding to higher education institutions.
What it Aims to Change or Add
The amendment allows the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to revise budget allocations, aggregates, and other levels.
It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that relates to prohibiting funding from the Chinese Communist Party or connected entities from being provided to higher education institutions.
For the Chairman to make these changes, the legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
